Dua Ya Uddati Sahar Dua for the Holy Month of Ramadhan ي ا ع د ت ي ف ي ك ر ب ت ي O my means in troubles: و ي ا ص اح ب ي ف ي ش د ت ي O my Companion in hardships: و ي ا و ل ي ي ف ي ن ع م ت ي O the Provider of my amenities; و ي ا غ اي ت ي ف ي ر غ ب ت ي O the utmost of my desires. أ ن ت الس ات ر ع و ر ت ي It is You Who conceals my defects, و ال م ؤ م ن ر و ع ت ي Who relieves my apprehensions, و ال م ق يل ع ث ر ت ي and Who overlooks my slips; ف اغ ف ر ل ي خ ط يئ ت ي. so, (please do) forgive my sin. الل ه م إ ني أ س أ ل ك خ ش وع اإل يم ان O Allah: I pray You for the submission of faith
ق ب ل خ ش وع الذ ل ف ي الن ار before I encounter the submission of humiliation in Hellfire. ي ا و اح د ي ا أ ح د ي ا ص م د O the One: O the Absolute: O the Besought of all: ي ا م ن ل م ي ل د و ل م ي ول د O He Who neither begets nor is He begotten, و ل م ي ك ن ل ه ك ف وا أ ح د and there is none like to Him. ي ا م ن ي ع ط ي م ن س أ ل ه O He Who confers upon him who beseeches Him ت ح ن نا م ن ه و ر ح م ة on account of His sympathy and mercy; و ي ب ت د ئ ب ال خ ي ر م ن ل م ي س أ ل ه and He Who initially grants welfare to those who have not asked for it, ت ف ض ال م ن ه و ك ر ما on account of His liberality and generosity. ب ك ر م ك الد ائ م I beseech You in the name of Your endless generosity ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل م ح م د that You bless Mu ammad and the Household of Mu ammad
و ه ب ل ي ر ح م ة و اس ع ة ج ام ع ة and bestow upon me with mercy vast and comprehensive أ ب ل غ ب ه ا خ ي ر الد ن ي ا و اآلخ ر ة. by which I can win the welfare of this world as well as the Next World. الل ه م إ ني أ س ت غ ف ر ك ل م ا ت ب ت إل ي ك م ن ه ث م ع د ت ف يه O Allah: I do pray for Your forgiveness for the sins from which I had repented to You but I committed them again. و أ س ت غ ف ر ك ل ك ل خ ي ر أ ر د ت ب ه و ج ه ك And I pray for Your forgiveness for my righteous acts that although I intended them purely for Your sake, ف خ ال ط ن ي ف يه م ا ل ي س ل ك. some purposes that are not intended for You intruded upon them. الل ه م ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل م ح م د O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Mu ammad and the Household of Mu ammad و اع ف ع ن ظ ل م ي و ج ر م ي and pardon my transgression and my offenses ب ح ل م ك و ج ود ك ي ا ك ر يم in the name of Your forbearance and magnanimity; ي ام ن ال ي خ يب س ائ ل ه O the All-generous. O He- one who prays Him will never be disappointed;
و ال ي ن ف د ن ائ ل ه one who seeks His rewards will never be devoid of goodness. فال ي ا م ن ع ال ش ي ء ف و ق ه O He Who is so Elevated that nothing can ever be higher than He is; و د ن ا ف ال ش ي ء د ون ه and Who is so Nigh that nothing can ever be closer that He is: ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل م ح م د (please do) send blessings upon Mu ammad and the Household of Mu ammad و ار ح م ن ي and have mercy upon me ي ا ف ال ق ال ب ح ر ل م وس ى O He Who split asunder the sea for (Prophet) Moses الل ي ل ة الل ي ل ة الل ي ل ة this very night, this very night, this very night, الس اع ة الس اع ة الس اع ة. this very hour, this very hour, this very hour. الل ه م ط ه ر ق ل ب ي م ن الن ف اق O Allah: (please do) purify my heart from hypocrisy; و ع م ل ي م ن الر ي اء and purify my acts from showing off;
و ل س ان ي م ن الك ذ ب and purity my tongue from telling untruths; و ع ي ن ي م ن ال خ ي ان ة and purify my eye from treason, فإ ن ك ت ع ل م خ ائ ن ة ا ألع ي ن و م ا ت خ ف ي الص د ور for You know the stealyour looks and that which the breasts conceal. ي ا ر ب هذ ا م ق ام ال ع ائ ذ ب ك م ن الن ار O my Lord: this is the manner of him who seeks Your protection from Hellfire. هذ ا م ق ام ال م س ت ج ير ب ك م ن الن ار This is the manner of him who seeks Your shelter against Hellfire. هذ ا م ق ام ال م س ت غ يث ب ك م ن الن ار This is the manner of him who seeks Your aid against Hellfire. هذ ا م ق ام ال ه ار ب إ ل ي ك م ن الن ار This is the manner of him who flees to You from Hellfire. هذ ا م ق ام م ن ي ب وء ل ك ب خ ط يئ ت ه This is the manner of him who returns to You carrying his offenses, و ي ع ت ر ف ب ذ ن ب ه confessing of his sins, و ي ت وب إل ى ر ب ه and repenting to You his Lord.
هذ ا م ق ام ال ب ائ س ال ف ق ير This is the manner of the miserable, the poor. هذ ا م ق ام ال خ ائ ف ال م س ت ج ير This is the manner of the fearful, the seeker of Your refuge. هذ ا م ق ام ال م ح ز ون ال م ك ر وب This is the manner of the aggrieved, the distressed. هذ ا م ق ام ال م غ م وم ال م ه م وم This is the manner of the depressing, the gloomy. هذ ا م ق ام ال غ ر يب ال غ ر يق This is the manner of the stranger, the drowned. هذ ا م ق ام ال م س ت و ح ش ال ف ر ق This is the manner of the alienated, the frightened. هذ ا م ق ام م ن ال ي ج د ل ذ ن ب ه غ اف را غ ي ر ك This is the manner of him who cannot find anyone save You to forgive his sins; و ال ل ض ع ف ه م ق و يا أ ن ت إال who cannot find anyone save You to give him power; و ال ل ه م ه م ف ر جا س و اك and who cannot find anyone save You to relieve his grief. ي ا الل ه ي ا ك ر يم
O Allah, O All-generous: ال ت ح ر ق و ج ه ي ب الن ار ب ع د س ج ود ي ل ك و ت ع ف ير ي (please) do not burn my face with Hellfire after I have prostrated myself before You and I have soiled my face for You. ب غ ير م ن م ن ي ع ل ي ك Of course, this is not a personal favor that I have done to myself; ب ل ل ك ال ح م د و ال م ن و الت ف ض ل ع ل ي rather it is on account of Your Praiseworthy favor and guidance to me. ار ح م أ ي ر ب أ ي ر ب أ ي ر ب... So, have mercy, O Lord, O Lord, O Lord (keep saying as much as one breath takes) then continue: ض ع ف ي upon my weakness, و ق ل ة ح يل ت ي upon my confusedness, و ر ق ة ج ل د ي upon the softness of my skin, و ت ب د د أ و ص ال ي
upon the separation of my organs, و ت ن اث ر ل ح م ي و ج س م ي و ج س د ي upon the dispersal of my flesh, body, and corpse, و و ح د ت ي و و ح ش ت ي ف ي ق ب ر ي upon my loneliness and lonesomeness in my grave, و ج ز ع ي م ن ص غ ير ال ب ال ء and upon my anxiety at the least misfortune that inflicts me. ر ب أ س أ ل ك ي ا ق ر ة ال ع ي ن و اإل غ ت ب اط I beseech You, O Lord, for delight and happiness ي و م ال ح س ر ة و الن د ام ة on the Day of regret and remorse. ض ب ي و ج ه ي ي ا ر ب ي و م ت س و د ال و ج وه (Please do) whiten my face, O Lord, when some faces will be blackened. آم ن ي م ن ال ف ز ع ا أل ك ب ر (Please do) secure me against the Supreme Horror. أ س أ ل ك ال ب ش ر ى ي و م ت ق ل ب ال ق ل وب و ا أل ب ص ار I beseech You for good tidings when hearts and sights shall be turned about و ال ب ش ر ى ع ن د ف ر اق الد ني ا. and for good tidings when I depart this life. ال ح م د ل ل ه ال ذ ي أ ر ج وه ع و نا ل ي ف ي ح ي ات ي
All praise be to Allah Whom I hope for aiding me in my life و أ ع د ه ذ خ را ل ي و م ف اق ت ي. and Whom I want to act as my Provision on the day of my neediness. ال ح م د ل ل ه ال ذ ي أ د ع وه و ال أ د ع و غ ي ر ه All praise be to Allah Whom alone do I beseech and I never beseech anyone rather than Him; و ل و د ع و ت غ ي ر ه ل خ ي ب د ع ائ ي. and even if I beseech anyone else, he will definitely let me down. ال ح م د ل ل ه ال ذ ي أ ر ج وه و ال أ ر ج و غ ي ر ه All praise be to Allah for Whom I hope and I never hope for anyone rather than Him; و ل و ر ج و ت غ ي ر ه أل خ ل ف ر ج ائ ي. and even if I hope for anyone else, he will definitely disappoint me. ال ح م د ل ل ه ال م ن ع م ال م ح س ن All praise be to Allah, the All-benefactor, the All-donor, ال م ج م ل ال م ف ض ل the All-favorer, the All-liberal, ذ ي ال ج الل و اإل ك ر ام the Lord of Majesty and Honor, ن ع م ة ك ل و ل ي the Source of all bounties,
و ص اح ب ك ل ح س ن ة And the Cause of all good deeds, و م ن ت ه ى ك ل ر غ ب ة the Ultimate Goal of all desires, و ق اض ي ك ل ح اج ة. and the Answerer of all needs. الل ه م ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل م ح م د O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Mu ammad and the Household of Mu ammad و ار ز ق ن ي ال ي ق ين و ح س ن الظ ب ك ن and grant me conviction and having good idea about You; و أ ث ب ت ر ج اء ك ف ي ق ل ب ي and fix my hope for You in my heart; و اق ط ع ر ج ائ ي ع م ن س و اك and deprive me of putting my hope in anyone other than You, ح ت ى ال أ ر ج و غ ي ر ك و ال أ ث ق ب ك إال so that I shall hope for none but You and I shall trust none but You. ي ا ل ط يفا ل م ا ت ش اء O He Who is Benignant to whom He pleases: أ لط ف ل ي ف ي ج م يع أ ح و ال ي ب م ا ت ح ب و ت ر ض ى
(please do) have benignity towards me in all my manners in the very way that You like and please. ي ا ر ب إ ني ض ع يف ع ل ى الن ار ف ال ت ع ذ ب ن ي ب الن ار O my Lord: verily, I am too weak to encounter Your Fire; therefore, (please) do not punish me with Your Fire. ي ا ر ب ار ح م د ع ائ ي و ت ض ر ع ي O my Lord: (please do) have mercy upon my prayers, my earnest imploring, و خ و ف ي و ذ ل ي و م س ك ن ت ي my fear, my humiliation, my neediness, و ت ع و يذ ي و ت ل و يذ ي my seeking Your protection, and my seeking Your refuge. ي ا ر ب إ ني ض ع يف ع ن ط ل ب الد ن ي ا O my Lord: I am too weak to seek earnings in this world و أ ن ت و اس ع ك ر يم and You are Ample-giving and All-generous. ي ا ر ب أ س أ ل ك ب ق و ت ك ع ل ى ذل ك I beseech You, O my Lord, in the name of Your power over that, و ق د ر ت ك ع ل ي ه and Your supremacy over it, و غ ن ا ك ع ن ه and Your dispensing with it,
و ح اج ت ي إ ل ي ه and my urgent need for it أ ن ت ر ز ق ن ي ف ي ع ام ي هذ ا that You grant me sustenance in this year, و ش ه ر ي هذ ا in this month, و ي و م ي هذ ا on this day, و س اع ت ي هذ ه at this hour ر ز قا ت غ ن ين ي ب ه ع ن ت ك ل ف م ا ف ي أ ي د ي الن اس sustenance by which You may make me dispense with what the others possess, م ن ر ز ق ك ال ح الل الط ي ب from Your sustenance, legal and nice. أ ي ر ب م ن ك أ ط ل ب O my Lord: from You do I ask; وإ ل ي ك أ ر غ ب and for You do I desire; ي اك أ ر ج و وإ and for You do I hope;
و أ ن ت أ ه ل ذل ك and You are the worthiest of hope. ال أ ر ج و غ ي ر ك I hope for none but You ب ك إال و ال أ ث ق and I trust in none but You. ي ا أ ر ح م الر اح م ين O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy: أ ي ر ب ظ ل م ت ن ف س ي O my Lord: I have wronged myself; ف اغ ف ر ل ي و ار ح م ن ي و ع اف ن ي so, (please do) forgive me, have mercy upon me, and grant me good health. ي ا س ام ع ك ل ص و ت O the Hearer of all sounds; و ي ا ج ام ع ك ل ف و ت O He Who takes precedence over everything that passes away; و ي ا ب ار ئ الن ف وس ب ع د ال م و ت O the Reviver of all souls after death; ي ا م ن ال ت غ ش اه الظ ل م ات O He Whom is not screened by murk;
و ال ت ش ت ب ه ع ل ي ه ا أل ص و ات O He Whom is not made confused by sounds; و ال ي ش غ ل ه ش ي ء ع ن ش ي ء O He Whom is not engaged by something against another thing; أ ع ط م ح م دا ص ل ى الل ه ع ل ي ه و آل ه أ ف ض ل م ا س أ ل ك (please do) grant Mu ammad peace be upon him and his Family the best of all that for which he has besought You و أ ف ض ل م ا س ئ ل ت ل ه and the best of all that which has been asked from You for him و أ ف ض ل م ا أ ن ت م س ؤ ول ل ه إ ل ى ي و م ال ق ي ام ة and the best all that which You shall be asked for him up to the Resurrection Day; و ه ب ل ي ال ع اف ي ة ح ت ى ت ه ن ئ ن ي ال م ع يش ة and grant me good health so that I may enjoy my life; و اخ ت م ل ي ب خ ي ر ح ت ى ال ت ض ر ن ي الذ ن وب. and end my life with a happy end so that my sins may not injure me. الل ه م ر ض ن ي ب م ا ق س م ت ل ي ح ت ى ال أ س أ ل أ ح دا ش ي ئا. O Allah: (please do) make me satisfied with that which You have decided for me so that I will not ask anyone else for anything. الل ه م ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل م ح م د O Allah: (please do) send blessings upon Mu ammad and the Household of Mu ammad
و اف ت ح ل ي خ ز ائ ن ر ح م ت ك And open to me the stores of Your mercy و ار ح م ن ي ر ح م ة ال ت ع ذ ب ن ي ب ع د ه ا أ ب دا ف ي الد ن ي ا و اآلخ ر ة and cover me with a mercy from You owing to which You will not punish me neither in this world nor in the Hereafter; و ار ز ق ن ي م ن ف ض ل ك ال و اس ع ر ز قا ح الال ط ي با and grant me from Your limitless favor sustenance, legal and nice, ال ت ف ق ر ن ي إ ل ى أ ح د ب ع د ه س و اك owing to which You will make me dispense with anyone other than You; ت ز يد ن ي ب ذل ك ش ك را increasing my gratitude to You, وإ ل ي ك ف اق ة و ف ق را and my neediness and submission before You, و ب ك ع م ن س و اك غ ن ى و ت ع ف فا and increasing my dispensing with and doing without everyone save You. ي ا م ح س ن ي ا م ج م ل O the All-benefactor; O the All-donor; ي ا م ن ع م ي ا م ف ض ل O the All-favorer; O the All-liberal, ي ا م ل يك ي ا م ق ت د ر
O the All-omnipotent; O the All-sovereign; ص ل ع ل ى م ح م د و آل م ح م د (please do) send blessings upon Mu ammad and the Household of Mu ammad و اك ف ن ي ال م ه م ك ل ه and relieve me from all grievances; و اق ض ل ي ب ال ح س ن ى and decide the most excellent for me; و ب ار ك ل ي ف ي ج م يع أ م ور ي and bless all my affairs; و اق ض ل ي ج م يع ح و ائ ج ي. and settle all my needs. الل ه م ي س ر ل ي م ا أ خ اف ت ع س ير ه O Allah: (please do) make easy for me all that which I anticipate to be difficult, ن فإ ت ي س ير م ا أ خ اف ت ع س ير ه ع ل ي ك س ه ل ي س ير for it is quite easy for You to make easy for me that which I anticipate to be difficult; و س ه ل ل ي م ا أ خ اف ح ز ون ت ه and (please do) facilitate for me that I anticipate to be complicated; و ن ف س ع ن ي م ا أ خ اف ض يق ه and give vent to that which I anticipate to be narrow;
و ك ف ع ن ي م ا أ خ اف ه م ه and save me from that which I anticipate to cause me distress; و اص ر ف ع ن ي م ا أ خ اف ب ل ي ت ه and guard me from that which I anticipate to cause me misfortune; ي ا أ ر ح م الر اح م ين. O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy. الل ه م ام أل ق ل ب ي ح ب ا ل ك O Allah: (please do) fill in my heart with love for You, و خ ش ي ة م ن ك with fear from You, و ت ص د يقا ل ك with belief in You, يم انا ب ك وإ with faith in You, و ف ر قا م ن ك with terror from You, إ ل ي ك و ش و قا and with eagerness to You; ي ا ذ ا ال ج الل و اإلك ر ام. O the Lord of Majesty and Honor.
ن الل ه م إ ل ك ح ق وقا ف ت ص د ق ب ه ا ع ل ي O Allah: I owe You some rights; so, (please do) consider them alms and excuse me from their liabilities. و ل لن اس ق ب ل ي ت ب ع ات ف ت ح م ل ه ا ع ن ي I also owe people some responsibilities; so, (please do) release me from their charges. و ق د أ و ج ب ت ل ك ل ض ي ف ق ر ى You have instructed us to honor our guests; و أ ن ا ض ي ف ك ف اج ع ل ق ر اي الل يل ة ال ج ن ة and I am Your guest at this night; so, (please do) decide Paradise for me as Your honoring me at this night. ي ا و ه اب ال ج ن ة O the Grantor of Paradise; ي ا و ه اب ال م غ ف ر ة O the Grantor of forgiveness; و ال ح و ل و ال ق و ة إال ب ك. and there is no power nor might save with You.
